How It All Started
I still remember the day Shraddha came home frustrated. She'd spent hours searching for decent Indian spices and fresh products in local shops, only to find everything either expensive or not fresh. We kept thinking—there has to be a better way.
That conversation happened in our living room in 2015. We weren't business experts. I was working a regular job, and Shraddha was managing our household. But we had something stronger than experience: we had a real problem we wanted to solve. We reached out to some suppliers we knew in India, made our first orders from our garage, and started filling orders for friends and neighbors on weekends.
It was exhausting. We worked long hours, made mistakes, learned from them, and kept going. There were nights when we weren't sure if this would work. But every positive feedback from a customer gave us the energy to continue.
Growing Pains and Big Breakthroughs
2016-2018: Testing Our Resolve
The first few years were genuinely tough. We faced unreliable suppliers, shipping delays, and there were months when we barely broke even. I remember a particularly difficult period when a shipment got delayed by a month—we had customers waiting, money tied up, and no clear way forward. But instead of giving up, we used it as a learning experience. We diversified our supplier base, improved our processes, and promised ourselves we'd never let customers down like that again.
2019-2020: The Big Moment
Then came 2020. The pandemic changed everything. People were looking for trusted suppliers they could depend on, and somehow, word got around about us. Orders went from hundreds per week to thousands per month. It was overwhelming, honestly. We had to scale quickly, hire our first team members, and establish proper warehousing. But we made sure that no matter how fast we grew, we never compromised on quality or that personal touch that got us here.
Today: Serving the UK and Beyond
Now, in 2024, we're serving over 50,000 happy customers across the UK. But we haven't forgotten where we started. Every product we sell is hand-picked. Every supplier relationship is personal. And every customer is important to us. We've also started exporting to countries like the US, Canada, Australia, and across Europe. It's amazing to see authentic Indian products reaching families worldwide, helping them stay connected to their roots.
